The Natural History Museum

Just scratching the surface of the incredible museum

From reptiles to mammals, it's all here, crossing the eons

You know this one. The dancy moves, the large claws to hook into the prey. Intelligent, quick, ferocious, hunting in small groups and nothing was too big to tackle for the raptor. I'll get a better shot next time around.

Titano-boa. A beast of a snake, leisurely consuming an adult crocodile

A very humbling gallery of some of the finest nature photography in existence

I did not want to stand in line to get into the butterfly pavillion, which was swarming with butterflies. The attendants would permit, naturally, only a certain number of people inside at the same time. So I posted myself at a port-hole outside with my camera. This young man had his hand out, the same as the little girl, and a large blue butterfly flew around the hand and landed on his head and stayed there for some time with people all around taking his picture. When I finally walked away, it was still sitting on his head. The little girl, btw, probably can't believe that the butterfly picked a boy to land on, and older sister is clearly bored by all the fuss over her younger brother.
